At SpareRoom we believe things are better when you share them - whether that’s your home, TV remote or evening meal. Only 17% of flatmates in the UK eat together regularly so we've decided to pay one flatshare £500 to eat together across 2 weeks and see if it makes them happier than eating alone (which they’ll do for a week beforehand) We’ll ask questions at the beginning & end of the task to evaluate the impact The Task: •The group eat alone for a week. Then for 2 weeks, we’ll pay them to order food in & eat together. Everyone must eat together 3 times per week •We’ll ask questions during the experiment to measure the impact of eating as a group Simply make an offer & let us know how many people you live with, whether you normally eat together, & why you think you’re the best candidates for the job! •You’ll pay for the food & be reimbursed after the task (up to £400 in total) •You must be 18+ to participate •You agree for your information to be used in promotional content if selected

Hello there I live with one of my best childhood friends and his wife. They excel in the kitchen and often cook meals which I occasionally sample. I also prepared food for myself on a daily basis but we nearly always dine separately even if we are making meals around the same time! I think that we would be a superb target audience for this study as it will provide a different approach and study in terms of our habits and morale plus a challenge to see how these changes impact us both individually and as a collective We look forward to your response, Stephen, James and Amina :)

I am passionate about amazing food, cooking, trying new cuisine and enjoying some of the innovative independent new restaurants in my hometown of Leeds. I love the people that I live with but I don’t think in the past 9 months in which we’ve lived together we haven’t actually sat down and ate dinner, just the three of us. And worryingly I have only just realised that terrible fact right now! A possible explanation is that we all have different dietary requirements which makes it difficult to cater for each other’s needs. My name is Molly, I’m a 20 year old Family Law Billing Clerk, I’m trying to eat plant-based vegan meals which will hopefully improve my physical and mental health. My friend of years and flatmate Lydia is a 21 year old English Literature Student, she has really been struggling with her diagnosis of IBS. Lyd is trying to eat gluten-free and following the ‘fod map’ diet. My 3 rd flatmate is 22 year old trainee teacher Pete, we are yet to discover his cooking style as I have only seen him in the kitchen a handful of times but he always manages to have mouthwatering pizzas, burgers and curry’s- making us very jealous! But I love that he insists on eating everything at the dinner table- even just for a bowl of cereal. His diet differs as he is a meat eater and training for a half marathon. We are newly formed friendship group who would enjoy this experiment and are very curious to see how this will change our household for the better.
