Improve my Wifi Speed

This job really is pretty much as straightforward as the title. I need someone who knows what they are doing with IT / networks. When I have my Router in my Bedroom the Wifi speed seems ok but when I have it in the living room it's really slow despite my devices being right next to it. I ideally need to have my router in the living room as I work from home and I don't want to keep running cables from the bedroom all the way into the living room. I've come across some technical videos on YouTube but I really don't want to play with or change something I don't have a good understanding of.
