The electric cooker in the house has to be replaced, but before then the switch set on the wall tiles should be moved to a position of at least 65 cm above the hob, around 30 to 40 cm higher than its present location. After that the new cooker has to be installed. To give you a precise idea of the present setting see attached photograh (reconstructed). The cooker will be delivered on Saturday 10 November afternoon. The house is in Canada Water (15 minutes from Westminster on Jubilee Line. I do not know if it would fulfil regulations fitting the switch on the right hand side of the cooker. The wires could be passed through the base units on the right hand side and through the work top. This would be less destructive and faster. The installation could not be simpler, but the work of moving the switch and installing the cooker has to be done by a qualified electrician to ensure I have no problems with the cooker or the warrantee.
