I’ve got some time off for the first time in AGES and want to go on a relaxing holiday but am so busy that I haven’t had any chance to plan it - so I need some help deciding where to go! The aim of the game is low-stress, I’m not in a rush to do anything touristy but would like to be somewhere with a nice natural atmosphere, and I’ve always wanted to have a rail adventure (because who wasn’t inspired by Michael Palin’s ‘Around the World in 80 Days’??). I’m a female travelling solo and single-occupancy accomodation is important to me but think champagne tastes on a craft-beer budget - safe/clean, but doesn’t need to be super luxe (though could be convinced to stretch for something that has amazing design credentials). I like running, art and Instagrammable interiors and am totally fine chilling out by myself. I’ve booked to go to Amsterdam on the Eurostar on July 11th but open from there - hit me with brief ideas for a 7 day rail trip that ends up back in London and if I choose yours will ask you to plan a more detailed itinerary with suggested accommodation and transport options. Thank you!

New!

Hey! I'd be thrilled to help you with task it sounds right up my street! I am an avid traveler who has visited many countries, living a champagne lifestyle on a craft-beer budget is my forte (great saying by the way!) I have been all over the world, including many countries in Europe and I inter-railed through it, therefore I have knowledge on train travel around Europe. The fact that you are starting in Amsterdam is great because there is great train connection to other places from there! I'll make sure that you have something fun to do everyday, depending on what sort of thing you are looking for. Hope to hear from you soon :)

Get off the train and get lost, it's the best way to explore a city and all her hidden gems, gems that you'll find in no tour book. The most beautiful memories of all x

Hello Claire, I can plan this for you. Here is an idea. Start off in Amsterdam then take an early train on to the pretty Belgian city of Bruges only 3 hours away. Spend the afternoon feasting on local chocolate and beer, then next morning climb to the top of the Belfort tower or take a boat trip along the canals before catching an afternoon train to Paris (3 hours). You’re totally spoilt for things to do in Paris, so choose a few favourites to do over the next couple of days. Then take the train on to Switzerland’s oldest city, Chur, on the banks of the Rhine (5 hours). Spend the night in Chur then catch the Bernina Express the next morning, one of Europe’s most scenic train journeys which runs through spectacular Alpine scenery to Tirano in Italy, where you change to a local train to connect to Milan (total 7 hours). Then spend your last morning shopping and sightseeing in the Italian fashion capital. Take a train back to Paris, before jumping on the Eurostar to Waterloo,London.

Hey, I'm not working for a travel agency but I love travel and I'd just came back from adventure bike trip around cornwall and north of england, I love adventures but also spending time chilling and enjoy the day with especially nice drinks and food. I spent a summer in holland few years ago and for sure I can find something nice for your trip :)
