Details

Hi, I would like to remove the existing integrated fridge in my kitchen and convert the top half into shelves and the bottom half as a storage area for the vacuum cleaner and other cleaning material. I also need to ensure that enough space is left to run a connection to the area where the new Fridge will be located. You don't need to take the fridge away as I will be arranging for it to be disposed of when my the new freestanding fridge arrives.

My offer includes two visits, the fridge uninstallation, MDF panel for backing, and shelfs installation.

Questions(1)

Hello Elizabeth, Do you have materials for the shelves you want to be installed?

Hi Roman, I dont have the backing that will be necessary when the Fridge comes out.. But for the shelves, I have strips of real wood planks that were left over from flooring work that I did a few years ago. I can send you a video of the space if that helps. DO you know if I can upload a video on here?

Not sure about the video, but you can definitely upload pictures.

I don't have pics, just a video at the moment.

I could come for inspection, but you will have to accept my offer so we could share our personal details in private messages. It would be easier, faster and much less dusty if I would come back with a right size backing.

I saw your fresh quote.. I would also need you to keep in mind that a wire needs to be runout of the skirting for connecting to the the area where the freestanding fridge will be. It will right next to the shelf

I need to see what are the options there to give you more precise quote. For now it sounds like it shouldn't be a problem, but I need to see it first.

Ok, I will let you know tomorrow.

Thank you, Elizabeth.

Roman, to be honest, I think for 2 hours of work, that is quite steep. I am hesitant about accepting your quote, as I might change my mind unless the quote drops to a max of 85.

I have added pics, so that you can have a better idea. Do let me know if that is possible? Best wishes,

Hello Elizabeth, My quote is not just for 2 hours job at your place. I was going to take measures, go the shop, purchase MDF panel and cut it to the size at my place (would save the time and would be no dust at your home) to install the backing and shelves. It would have a proper look and and be fully functional. Plus you were mentioned rewiring so I was thinking of making custom made extension through the panel for your new fridge. If you want me to come once, the backing and shelves made of narrow pieces of wooden flooring and just a large hole in the panel to get through the wire I can reduce it to 85. I like to do the proper job, but if you not bothered about the look and interested just in functionality, I surely can do it this way. Please let me know your decision so I could fit you in my schedule.

That is a fair point. Would the cost of the MDF panel be included in the £120?

Also, I have a second question. If the answer is yes, could you come by tomorrow evening to inspect, that would be great. Will you be able to do the work on Friday?

I could come tomorrow to make the measurements, but I am afraid I am fully booked on Friday. How about Saturday or Sunday?

And yes, the panel is included in the price. Plus, the Airtasker takes 20% of this sum as a commission and I'm making my quote with this factor.

Ok that is fair enough. Yes, if you can come tomorrow evening to take the measurements and then Saturday to do the work.. that is fine.. I will accept the quote.
