I’m currently an internal recruiter for a private company and see hundreds of CV’s each week. I would recommend having a standard CV for all applications and tailoring the cover letter to be role/industry specific. I’ve worked in HR and recruitment for Marks and Spencer’s and Slater and Gordon Lawyers previously. I’d say the most important thing is to try and be succinct and concise as on average recruiters will pass judgement within a few seconds of viewing your CV.
