Old unused doorway into kitchen/dining room in a bedroom, currently hidden behind a wardrobe but not stopping sound at all. Doorway gap is around 55x195cm and around 50cm deep; my idea would be to fill this gap with a few layers of insulation and board up either side.

You won't need much a few lengths of studding, sound proof plaster board and insulation.
