I'm looking to replace my current built-in wardrobes with the IKEA pax range as it will give me more flexibility with my storage space. However, there will be some small gaps at either side between the wardrobe and the wall (roughly 5cm on one side, 20cm on the other, floor to ceiling 237cm height) which I'd like to fill in to get more of a built-in feel.

Hi, I have worked with Ikea Pax Wardrobes and my suggestion would be , to create a frame in and around the gaps. The difficulty in extending the wardrobe itself would be high as the sliding door function would be hindered, is there no way of splitting the difference either side of the wardrobe so you could have 12.5cm either side , I could do a nice frame to hide the gaps, using Ikea wood to match. if you cant split difference I can still do this but obviously there wouldnt be symmetrical either side

Would you be requiring the wardrobes to be built to?
